We have always wanted DRG to be a great place to work, with a good work-life balance and to provide a supportive, challenging environment in which our people can develop their careers. Following over a year of working from home, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were keen to find out just what the DRG team now thought about our working practices. This information would help us frame our approach going forward once the Government’s “Work from Home” message is lifted.
How does our team want to work in the future?
To explore our team’s views on DRG’s working practices going forward, we conducted an employee survey. The results showed a clear preference for a flexible mix of working from home and being in the office.
These findings, plus the experience of running the business through the Covid-19 pandemic, have without doubt been the catalyst to bring forward some actions we had been considering for some time – in terms of working from home, more flexible hours and how the office itself is used. Over the next few months, we will be testing a number of changes to our working practices to provide a good working environment that works for our teams and helps them deliver a great service to our clients.
Hybrid mix of working from home and in the office
Whilst no week will be the same, we have asked our teams, in general, to spend no more than three days a week working from home – and to come into the office or be on site at a client at least twice a week. This should provide a good mix of collaboration, training, team building and time for individual work.
The DRG office – a more collaborative space
This more flexible way of working will change the way we use our office, with less need for personal work stations. We are currently looking at re-configuring the DRG office to make it a more collaborative space, suitable for individual work, meetings both in person and online, training, social events and team building.
“We want DRG to constantly evolve and to be at the forefront of how accountancy firms work. We work hard to look after the well-being of our staff and want to provide the optimum environment that is right for individuals, our teams and DRG overall," says Oliver Burton, Partner DRG Chartered Accountants.
We are always keen to hear from talented individuals – if you would like to find out more about working at DRG Chartered Accountants, please get in touch. We would be very pleased to hear from you.
